A Grimm Reality consists of five modernized fairytales of The Brothers Grimm. Woven into a single narrative by award-winning playwrights, A Grimm Reality celebrates the diversity, the excitement, and the “magic” of New York City. Taking place outdoors in Bryant Park and free to the public, this immersive, 3-dimensional experience happens all around the audience, in an exciting theatrical journey that will be enjoyable for both families and the discriminating theatergoer. It’s fun. It’s fresh. It’s free.
A Grimm Reality is the inaugural production of THEATRE 4the PEOPLE — a non-profit theatre company dedicated to creating authentic theatre of the highest quality that is 3-Dimensional, integrated, and accessible for everyone.
In a world where media technology is surging towards a 3-Dimensional experience, THEATRE 4the PEOPLE creates environmental, site specific, guerrilla-style theatre that physically, emotionally and mentally immerses the audience into the world of the play. Our productions are conceived in an integrated process, which brings writers, directors, designers and actors together with this goal in mind. Our productions are always free or pay-what-you-can and thereby open to all. The plays themselves are intellectually and emotionally accessible, made for an audience that is hungry for courageous voices, potent stories and high-caliber performances.
